MY4 Sifu Rob Burns

The Moy Yat Ving Tsun Kung Fu Academy of Iowa City is run by MY4 Sifu Rob Burns, who has been training at the Iowa City school since its founding in 1993. From the beginning, he trained diligently with his Sifu, the Iowa City Academy’s founder, MY3 Sifu Moy Yat Tung Dr. Rob Squatrito.

Not long after, then-student and now-Sifu Burns also joined his SiGung’s inner circle, the MY4, and attended many Moy Tung and Moy Yat Kung Fu workshops and events in Iowa City, as well as at the New York Moy Yat SSA HQ, and the Richmond Moy Yat Kung Fu Academy, and other Moy Tung branch schools.

About his Kung Fu and Ving Tsun martial arts classes for health & self-defense, Sifu Burns says, “Moy Yat Ving Tsun: no belts, no competitions, no ego: just pure Ving Tsun Kung Fu.” This is why it’s said in the Moy Tung lineage, “Ask Rob Burns.”

Sifu Moy Yat Tung relocated for his medical career in the 90’s, and in the late 90’s Rob Burns was officially sanctioned as the new Sifu (Kung Fu master teacher) of the Iowa City Academy. Sifu Moy Yat Tung practices medicine and teaches Moy Yat Kung Fu in Virginia Beach, VA.
