2022: Maryland Celebrates Decade of Kung Fu with Moy Tung Workshop

In 2022, Montgomery County Kung Fu celebrated its first decade of continuous operation with its first in-person long-weekend workshop with Grandmaster Moy Tung since Coronavirus COVID-19 restrictions began to ease. The inter-school, inter-generational training workshops are a hallmark of the MTAA branch schools, and it had been missed. Sifus and students visited from Richmond, Virginia Beach and Fredericksburg in Virginia, and from as far as New York and Iowa.

The Maryland Kung Fu school, located in the Kentlands shopping district of Gaithersburg, MD, was founded in 2010 by MY4 Sifu Brad Schonhorst with his wife and fellow Ving Tsun (wing chun) Kung Fu student under MY3 Sifu Moy Yee Tung, Liz Schonhorst. The school teaches the Ving Tsun Kung Fu system of martial arts training exclusively, for fitness and self-defense.
