Chi Sao at Iowa 2013 20 Year Anniversary

Recently unearthed video clip of Chi Sao from a decade ago, at the 2013 twenty-year anniversary of the Iowa City Moy Yat Kung Fu school, featuring TX MY4 Moy Tung disciple Wu Tung Shan Nic Bartell, Sifu of the Houston and Georgetown schools. The Iowa City Moy Yat Kung Fu 2013 20th anniversary seminar is featured in the MTAA Events Archive with more pics and video, including of Bartell’s Sifu, Aaron Vyvial of the Austin MY3 branch school.

The Iowa City Ving Tsun Kung Fu school is the first of many Moy Tung-lineage branch schools. The IA Ving Tsun (wing chun) Kung Fu branch was founded in 1993 by MY3 Sifu Moy Yat Tung, now teaching in Virginia Beach. Moy Yat Tung began training under Grandmaster Moy Tung in 1985; his name means he’s the DaiSihing in Moy Tung’s Kung Fu lineage.

Grandmaster Moy Yat himself was hosted by the Iowa school for seminars a number of times, in addition to many more workshops with his SSA disciple, Grandmaster Moy Tung, the SiGung of the Iowa City school.

Many Iowa students, including Iowa City Sifu Rob Burns and Coralville MY4 Sifu Andrew Knapp, also joined the Moy Tung MY4 inner circle. Click here to see the list of authorized Moy Tung-lineage branch schools.

Moy Tung workshops happen regularly around the US at different branch schools. Most recently, Grandmaster Moy Tung was at the Virginia Beach school for a Kwan seminar produced by Moy Yat Tung disciple MY4 Sifu Lung Yat Tung and the Detroit Kung Fu Academy, which Bartell and Knapp attended, along with other Moy Tung Sifus and students.

The anniversary of the Richmond Moy Yat Kung Fu Academy is May 19-21. The roots of the Kung Fu in the Moy Tung clan are strong.
